INSPECTION OF INSTALLED ITEMS CONTINUED
LATHE MACHINE CONTINUED
1. Inspect lathe machine (Figure 1, Item 1) for damage that deem lathe machine non-operational. Replace as
necessary.
2.
Inspect lathe machine brackets (Figure 1, Item 6 through 8) for damage. Replace as necessary.
3.
Inspect lathe machine hardware (Figure 1, Item 2 through 5) for rust, cracks and rounded heads. Replace as
necessary.
REMOVAL
1.
Remove two bolts (Figure 1, Item 5), two lock washers (Figure 1, Item 3), and two lat washers (Figure 1, Item
4), removing lathe machine side wall bracket (Figure 1, Item 6) from shelter wall.
2.
Remove six bolts (Figure 1, Item 5), six lock washers (Figure 1, Item 3), and six lat washers (Figure 1, Item
4), removing lathe machine side brackets (Figure 1, Item 7) from the loor.
3.
Remove two bolts (Figure 1, Item 5), two lock washers (Figure 1, Item 3), and two lat washers (Figure 1, Item
4), removing lathe machine front bracket (Figure 1, Item 8) from the loor.
4.
Remove two bolts (Figure 1, Item 5), four lat washers (Figure 1, Item 4), two lock washers (Figure 1, Item 3),
and two nuts (Figure 1, Item 2) removing side wall bracket (Figure 1, Item 6) from lathe machine (Figure 1,
Item 1).
5.
Remove four bolts (Figure 1, Item 5), eight lat washers (Figure 1, Item 4), four lock washers (Figure 1, Item
3), and four nuts (Figure 1, Item 2) removing side brackets (Figure 1, Item 7) from lathe machine (Figure 1,
Item 1).
6.
Remove two bolts (Figure 1, Item 5), four lat washers (Figure 1, Item 4), two lock washers (Figure 1, Item 3),
and two nuts (Figure 1, Item 2) removing front bracket (Figure 1, Item 8) from lathe machine (Figure 1, Item
1).
REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT
1.
If lathe machine brackets (Figure 1, Item 6 through 8) can be repaired by welding, weld damaged area IAW
TM 1-1500-204-23-8. Repair must not interfere with form, it, or function of lathe machine (Figure 1, Item 1).
2.
Paint repaired lathe machine side brackets (Figure 1, Item 7) IAW WP 0069 00, Figure 5.
3.
Paint repaired lathe machine front bracket (Figure 1, Item 8) IAW WP 0069 00, Figure 1.
4.
Paint repaired lathe machine side wall bracket (Figure 1, Item 6) IAW WP 0069 00, Figure 2.
INSTALLATION
1.
Install two bolts (Figure 1, Item 5), four lat washers (Figure 1, Item 4), two lock washers (Figure 1, Item 3),
and two nuts (Figure 1, Item 2) attaching front bracket (Figure 1, Item 8) to lathe machine (Figure 1, Item 1).
2.
Install four bolts (Figure 1, Item 5), eight lat washers (Figure 1, Item 4) four lock washers (Figure 1, Item 3),
and four nuts (Figure 1, Item 2) attaching side brackets (Figure 1, Item 7) to lathe machine (Figure 1, Item 1).
3.
Install two bolts (Figure 1, Item 5), four lat washers (Figure 1, Item 4), two lock washers (Figure 1, Item 3),
and two nuts (Figure 1, Item 2) attaching side wall bracket (Figure 1, Item 6) to lathe machine (Figure 1, Item
1).
4.
Install two bolts (Figure 1, Item 5), two lock washers (Figure 1, Item 3), and two lat washers (Figure 1, Item
4), attaching lathe machine front bracket (Figure 1, Item 8) to the loor.
5.
Install six bolts (Figure 1, Item 5), six lock washers (Figure 1, Item 3), and six lat washers (Figure 1, Item 4),
attaching lathe machine side brackets (Figure 1, Item 7) to the loor.
6.
Install two bolts (Figure 1, Item 5), two lock washers (Figure 1, Item 3), and two lat washers (Figure 1, Item
4), attaching lathe machine side wall bracket (Figure 1, Item 6) to shelter wall.
Torque loor and wall bolts (Figure 1, Item 5) 160-190 in. lbs.
